Wacko patrol: America's 25 scariest conservatives

The fire-breathing reactionaries already wield extraordinary influence on the right — imagine what will happen once the relatively sane folks now running the White House and the Republican National Committee pack up and go home? Here, the Phoenix ranks the individuals who will hold the most sway over the right-wing message machine in 2009, and beyond. You’ll recognize many, and wonder why others are missing. Bill O’Reilly, for example, doesn’t make our list, because he’s now more of a follower than a leader — when’s the last time he had an original thought, scary or otherwise?

25) KATON DAWSON, CHAIR, SOUTH CAROLINA GOP
The right tried to get him to run for Senate against Republican Lindsay Graham this year. He’s your likely next RNC chair. Buckle up.

Re: Wacko patrol: America's 25 scariest conservatives
So Hannity has 13 million listeners? How's Air America doing in Boston? Oh, that's right--they got pulled off the air due to low ratings. What a success story!

@ racradio: So Obama's poised to win the election? How's John McCain and the GOP doing nationally? Oh, that's right--they're going to lose the White House, the Senate, the Congress, the majority of governorships, and state legislatures. What a success story!

Since the left is wothout a "message machine" of any consequence, in the spirit of balanced reporting, I look forward to the Phoenix list of America's Scariest Liberals.  Perhaps an entire section would be in order?

Re: Wacko patrol: America's 25 scariest conservatives
I'm surprised this article is in the Talking Politics section, it really ought to be in the Humor section. This whole article is a joke, and at the same time a glowing endorsement for every person mentioned here. In fact, the higher up the list the more I am going to pay attention to them. This kind of trash is the reason why liberal newspapers and news stations are losing money out the wazzoo. Its no coincidence that NBC had to cut $500 million from the budget. Something must be turning people away from watching NBC and MSNBC. Hmm.. can you say Keith Olbermann? David Bernstein, if you keep writing stuff like this, your next big line will be: "Would you like fries with that?"
