Moonsigns

Today: January 7, 2011

Waxing moon in Aquarius; moon void-of-course 3:51 until 9:57 pm, when it moves into Pisces. Work late? Forget it. Doing things “not by the book” is advised for all, but particularly Aquarius, Libra, Gemini, Aries, Sagittarius, Pisces, and Cancer. If Capricorn, Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, and Virgo are feeling in “free-fall” mode, see if you can swing with it. Imposing order brings no one happiness today.

This week: Moonsigns: April 25 to May 1, 2013

This week’s full moon is the “Pink Moon,” also known as the “Planter’s Moon.” For the first time this year, you can go out with your binoculars and enjoy exploring the maria of Luna’s surface without slowly freezing your fingers off. And, if you’ve been waiting for spring fever to hit, this is the season. Of course, “spring fever” is a movable feast, and for some folks may find their restlessness is more serious than just a few weeks early in the year. Traditionalists wouldn’t recommend this weekend for planting, but it’s a fine time to consider exotic greenery. (How hard is it to create a little grotto of carnivorous plants?)

Thursday, April 25
Full moon in Scorpio. Excellent for gardening, pruning, or going Post-it crazy in the seed catalogue. The urge to slash is intense, so look for plants that need to be viciously cut back, or easy targets. Yes, sounds cruel, but Scorpio moons aren’t for the faint of heart. Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Pisces, Gemini, Cancer, and Aries: fast is better. Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius: it’s all more complicated than you think.

Friday, April 26
Waning moon in Scorpio, moon void-of-course 4:56 am until 7:32 am Saturday. An all-day VOC Scorpio moon encourages sensual moments, or quirky/bizarre misreadings of messages. Scorpio moons concern interpreting levels of difficulty (although Scorpions will tell you they’re just as clear as day). Looking for adventure: Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Pisces, Gemini, Cancer, and Aries. Looking for adventure and will take whatever comes their way (and definitely not born to be mild): Taurus, Leo, Aquarius.

Saturday, April 27
Waning moon in Sagittarius. If you’re feeling frustrated, consider buying a junker rag-top and ripping up the highway. That urge to make tracks means Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Taurus, Cancer, Aries, and Leo need to keep moving. Gemini, Virgo, and Pisces: it’s an accident-prone time. Watch your step.

Sunday, April 28
Waning moon in Sagittarius. Another super day for travel, or for exploring higher education, or getting a taste of alternative cultures. Frankness is also a theme, and some folks: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Libra, Gemini, and Aquarius could be addicted to “truthfulness” (doesn’t always come with a serving of diplomacy). Taurus, Capricorn, Virgo, Scorpio, Cancer, and Pisces: one project won’t cut it — it’s short-attention-span Sunday.

Monday, April 29
Waning moon in Capricorn, moon void-of-course 12:37 am until 8:21 am in
Sagittarius. Earth sign Mondays are excellent for going over long-range accounts or for one’s materialistic urge to burst forth. Take credit for projects, don’t be shy — even self-effacing Virgo, Capricorn, Taurus, Scorpio, Cancer, and Pisces should be open about what they want and need. Libra, Aquarius, Gemini, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius: if you feel that everything is moving too slo-o-wly for words, you’re in tune with the moon.

Tuesday, April 30
Waning moon in Capricorn. Excellent for home repairs or buying bargain materials for projects that will take a long time. Also a fine time for checking structures and making sure they’re sound (exactly how tall is that teetering pile of random paper on your desk?). Efficient and competent: Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Leo, Gemini, Virgo, and Taurus. Willing to be bored — for a while: Libra, Cancer, Aries.

Wednesday, May 1
Waning moon in Capricorn, moon void-of-course 10:07 am until 10:20 am when it moves into Aquarius. Mercury moves into Taurus. Those home projects you began with such enthusiasm, such willingness, such . . . inefficient tools? Should be put aside for now. Aquarius moons are about novelty, experimentation and socializing, even if only with the voices in your own head. Risk-takers: Aquarius, Libra, Gemini, Aries, Sagittarius, Leo. Slow, and possibly cantankerous: Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo, Scorpio, Cancer, Pisces.

About MoonSigns

This horoscope traces the passage of the moon, not the sun. Simply read from day to day to watch the moon’s influence as it moves through the signs of the zodiac.

When the moon is in your sun sign (e.g., you’re a Taurus and the moon is in Taurus), you are beginning a new 28-day emotional cycle. Expect increased insight and emotional responses during this two day period. The moon changes sign approximately every 2.5 days, so it’s influence is intense, but ultimately brief. Now, when the moon is in the sign opposite your sun sign, expect some ups and downs. Here are the oppositions: Aries, Libra. Taurus, Scorpio. Gemini, Sagittarius. Cancer, Capricorn. Leo, Aquarius and Virgo, Pisces.

As the moon between signs, it will sometimes become "void of course," and make no major angles to planets. Consider this a null time and try to avoid decision-making or implementing decisions if you can. It is an excellent period for creativity, unexpected encounters, and quirky outcomes.
