Ace Ticket
Put it this way: the games are all pretty much sold out, anyway. So who’s it gonna be? The fat guy on the corner of Comm Ave and Brookline in the Yaz T-shirt with nicotine teeth and shifty eyes (“Tickets! Tickets! Got ’em? Need ’em!”)? Or ACE TICKET, who was recently handpicked by the Red Sox to be their official “offline” ticket re-sale agency? The Brookline-founded firm has cemented a relationship with the Red Sox via sponsorships with NESN and WEEI, not to mention a series of lucrative charitable contributions. We witnessed one Ace employee win Theo Epstein’s infamous gorilla suit at the Hot Stove, Cool Music auction (with proceeds benefiting the Foundation to Be Named Later). And founder Jim Holzman once bid $31,000 for a Red Sox vanity plate, in support of the Mini Fenway Park project. Heck, for that kind of scratch you could buy a right-field roof-deck seat for a Tuesday-night Orioles game.
