Wall at Central Square
It started in mid-October 2007, when 20 renowned street artists from across the country collaborated to turn the dingy, 87-foot alley beside Cambridge’s Central Kitchen into the WALL AT CENTRAL SQUARE, an eclectic and impressive art installation combining posters, painting, graffiti, stencils, and stickers. After two months of defacement and decay, the whole thing was replaced by a full-scale graffiti concept-art piece, which has itself been replaced by a massive, colorful new installment featuring a half-dozen local graffiti artists as a tribute to one artist’s deceased father. This, too, will pass. Keep your eyes out for what’s next.
