What does the job entail?
To put it simply, you go out to businesses and you sell them advertising – print ads, online ads, email campaigns, promotional campaigns…whatever we can come up with that will help the client be more profitable. You manage the entire life cycle of the ad – work with art to create ads, with our other media outlets to create campaigns, with marketing to develop cross promotions, with traffic to schedule ads and plenty of others in getting the message out.
You will be out of the office plenty – probably half your time – following up with clients, pitching ad proposals to prospects, attending promotional events, making sales. Most of your business will be inside and probably closer to the center of Providence.
What are the skills I need to be successful?
You have to be able to keep lots of balls in the air at one time and not drop any.
You have to be willing to make appointments with prospects and be persistent in convincing them to buy from us.
You have to be able to walk up to a prospect in a crowded room and make conversation without any introduction.
You have to be able to handle tight deadlines and sell to meet your weekly objectives.
You have to be able to close deals and to up-sell.
